What kind of story are we looking for?
The unexpected, the surprising, the sudden—and what stays with us. Expeditions to remote places and lesser-known routes. Long-distance adventures and epic journeys of sustainability. Fragile ecosystems and resilient communities. Humanity’s destructive power and nature’s regenerative power. Traditions, artisans, and other guardians—at the end of the street and at the end of the world. Transformative encounters and stories of overcoming adversity and resilience. The future of travel and journeys with a past, measured and deliberate—wide, slow, and mindful.
How should you pitch an idea?
Please send us an email with:
- A brief introduction about yourself.
- A synopsis: a paragraph in which you describe the story you want to tell.
- A brief look behind the scenes (who, how, where, when, and why).
- A handful of extraordinary images—photographs or illustrations—in low resolution that tell the story.
- Submissions should preferably be in Portuguese, but we will respond to all proposals received in any other language.
- Please indicate whether the text and images are original or have already been published elsewhere
What are we looking for in writing?
Engaging, informative, and inspiring writing. Clear and direct. There are no limits to style, as long as the writing transports readers to the places and experiences described, while also encouraging reflection and emotional connection. The language should be sensory and evoke mental images. The text should entertain, but above all, it should inform—without being academic. Stereotypes should be avoided. Cultures and traditions should be addressed with depth and respect, without prejudice, highlighting their diversity and the complexity of the communities. Include personal experiences. Show vulnerability. Give a voice to the locals— Primitiva them. Make the reader feel as though they are listening to a story told by a friend. Leave readers and friends thinking about the planet.
Authors will be compensated for their published works.
